Client
One of the largest companies on the Polish market engaged in the provision of courier services. The client employs over 2000 people throughout Poland.
Multiple locations, short notice and high demand
Due to their courier business the client is experiencing an increased demand for staff over the festive period. As a result, they asked us to recruit several groups of 20 employees each for sorting centres at various locations.
By putting staffing issues in EWL’s hands, the client was able to focus on processing of customer orders and operational issues at sorting centres across Poland. The client’s main requirements were manual dexterity of the candidates and low turnover. In addition, the client wanted to recruit in a short time. The client also indicated that other agencies working with them would also recruit.
Individual approach to each location
Solving the client’s problem required diagnosing specific needs and an in-depth recognition of the specifics of the sorting centre employee position offered by the company. We decided to recruit from the local market. Thanks to a wide network of recruitment partners in the country, we were able to acquire a sufficient number of candidates, who were then trained by the client and took up work in various parts of Poland.
The multi-location nature of the recruitment forced us to take an individual approach to recruitment from the local market for each location, which also had a significant impact on the success of the recruitment.
EWL – fast and effective
By cooperating with the EWL employment agency, the client increased the number of employees in locations where there was a shortage of staff and thus did not have to worry about a shortage of manpower during the peak period when most parcels are shipped.
Our company recruited more than 100 employees from the local market in less than two weeks. This allowed us to strengthen our cooperation with the client, who regularly comes to us with new orders, and also strengthened EWL’s position as a reliable partner and supplier of temporary workers.
Worth knowing
As a result of working with the EWL employment agency, not only did the client eliminate staff shortages, but also gained employees from the local market ready to work in the parcel sorting centre. EWL’s efficiency and speed of service gave the client time to focus on developing their business.
In order to achieve the goal, we applied an individual cooperation model whose essential elements were:
- Recruitment of candidates from the local market willing to work in the logistics industry,
- A separate approach to each location – examining the recruitment potential and using a network of partners across the country.
The activities we have implemented in the case of this company will work equally well in other courier companies that are interested in increasing the number of employees at sorting centres. Working with EWL can be valuable for organisations that want to simplify the process as much as possible.
