The EWL Foundation supports the organization of Easter Breakfast for migrants from the East at Warsaw’s Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene in the Praga district.

The Orthodox Parish of St. Mary Magdalene and the St. Cyril and Methodius Centre for Orthodox Culture in Warsaw organize on April 8th a solemn Easter Breakfast for the migrants gathered around the Orthodox Church in Praga, who, for various reasons, are spending the Resurrection Day far from their loved ones. This year the Foundation for Support of Migrants on the Labour Market “EWL” joined in the organization of the event.

Easter is primarily a family holiday, during which the whole family gathers at a large table to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord. But not everyone has the opportunity to share the Easter feast with their loved ones. With the annual increase in migration from Eastern European countries to Poland, there is a problem of separation of the migrants with their families and loved ones, which is most painful during the family holiday celebrations.

In order to counteract this phenomenon, the organizers decided to prepare Easter Breakfast, which will take place on April 8th, about 3:00 a.m. (after the Paschal Mass) in the parish hall of the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene, Al. Solidarności 52 in Warsaw.

‘Nobody should be left alone on Easter’, says Andrzej Korkus, CEO of the EWL Group. ‘We take care of the migrants from the East not only by providing them with decent conditions for work and residence in Poland, but we also understand their needs and try to do everything we can to make them feel at home, especially during seasonal holidays.
