‘84% of the 600 foreigners surveyed prefer to stay in Poland during the pandemic. Nevertheless, more than 20% had to change their industry or place of employment due to the pandemic, and 60.6% of them had their jobs cut’. The EWL study ‘A foreign employee in the pandemic’ is quoted in the article ‘The place of a migrant in the Polish economy after the COVID-19 pandemic’ by the Wrocław-based Ukraine Foundation.

‘The EWL study mentioned above shows that among the government benefits introduced during the coronavirus pandemic the migrants most expected the possibility of prolonging the validity of documents allowing them to stay and work in Poland (58.9% of respondents), which made it possible to introduce further versions of the anti-crisis shield’.
