Poland’s first report on the situation of non-European workers is based on an analysis of the results of the survey “Poland in the Global Fight for Talent from Asia and Latin America,” which was conducted from March 25-April 8, 2024 by EWL Group, the EWL Foundation and Centre for East European Studies at Warsaw University.
The last five years have seen a noticeable change in the number of work permits issued in Poland for foreigners from Asian and Latin American countries. In 2019 almost 55,000 permits were issued to citizens from these two regions. However, in 2023 it was already over 275,000, so a fivefold increase.
A total of 450 immigrants from Asian and Latin American countries who are employed in Poland participated in the survey. The report will answer the following questions:
- What had the greatest influence on their choice of Poland as an emigration country?
- How long do they intend to stay in Poland?
- What industries and positions do they work in?
- How much do they earn on average in Poland, and how much do they send to their home country?
- How long did it take them to get hired in Poland, and how much did it cost?
- How do they seek employment in our country?
- In what language do they communicate in the workplace?
- For how long are they willing to tie themselves to their current employer?
- Are they willing to recommend Poland as a country for labor emigration?
- How do immigrants from Asia and Latin America integrate in Poland?
- What challenges do they face in our country?
