The media: Foreigners are still needed

Logistics centres and warehouses, courier and construction companies, as well as food processing plants – this is where, according to the estimates of employment agencies, employers still need to supplement staff shortages with foreign employees, mainly from Ukraine (…)

On the pages of the Rzeczpospolita daily Michał Wierzchowski, sales director at EWL, draws attention to the adverse effect of lockdowns and lack of components.

‘In the first two months of this year we recorded a lower demand for foreign employees among our clients by about 6% than in the same period of 2020.’

– claims Wierzchowski.

Nevertheless, he points out that this trend started to reverse in March; the demand for employees in distribution centres of retail chains increased, and the lockdown also triggered an increase in orders for hands to work in e-commerce and logistics (…)

Michal Wierzchowski, quoted by the daily, also talks about the signs of improvement in automotive and electronics manufacturing industries; clients from these industries signal an increased demand for employees right after Easter, when they expect an influx of components for production. According to him, the recovery in manufacturing and the start of the season in agriculture and construction sectors should quickly increase the demand for foreign employees.
