Companies recruiting workers from abroad warn of the consequences of the departure of Ukrainians from Poland and propose solutions that may mitigate the effects of border restrictions (…)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘We understand\nthe restrictions on the movement of people and they are important for the fight\nagainst the coronavirus, but in Poland we have about 1 million Ukrainians who\nbuild our economy on a daily basis and most of them are staying in Poland on\nthe basis of declarations of entrusting work to a foreigner, biometric\npassports and visas. These are temporary documents. Monthly, about 20 percent\nor even up to 30 percent of these documents expire. So we lose 200 thousand\nemployees from Ukraine\non a monthly basis as an economy’, explains Andrzej Korkus<\/strong>, CEO of EWL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He adds that\nunder normal conditions, newcomers arrive in place of those who have left, but\nwhen crossing the border is difficult, it is necessary to keep those Ukrainians\nwho are still in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Especially that employees from Ukraine work in key economic sectors, mainly the agri-food, processing and trade sectors, which are very important during this’, says Korkus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
